Step into the why behind my art - resilience, light, and the messy magic that shapes every piece.

About Alexiss Malolo

Alexiss Malolo is known for her vibrant, transformative works that bridge the gap between reality & imagination. Raised in the awe-inspiring natural landscapes of Utah, she discovered an early passion for art - sketching in the margins of schoolbooks before embarking on a decade-long career in 3D film animation. Eventually, painting became not just her passion but her calling, a way to channel her life experiences into something luminous and lasting.

Now based in Dallas, Texas, Alexiss builds each painting from vivid layers of color. She begins with neon underpaintings that radiate upward and finishes with strokes of metallic gold that shimmer across the surface, each infused with her life experiences. Through this process, her canvases become sanctuaries of light and possibility, offering a glimpse not only of the world as it is, but as it could be: alive with resilience, beauty, and transformation.

Her debut collection celebrated themes of hope, femininity, and perseverance, encouraging viewers to rediscover their own inner strength. Looking ahead, Alexiss continues to create work that comforts, inspires, and uplifts - reminders that even in the midst of chaos, joy can be found, and magic is never far away.

Artist Statement

"My work is about transformation - the way chaos can shift into rhythm, and how light always finds its way through. I paint to celebrate the resilience we all carry, the ability to rise, stumble, and still move forward.

Every canvas begins with neon underpaintings, a hidden glow that pushes up through each layer. Even when it’s almost covered, that light refuses to stay quiet - it’s a symbol of the potential and strength inside us, even when life feels heavy. I finish with metallic gold, because I believe there’s always magic woven into the mess.

My process is deliberately chaotic at first: sprays, splashes, marks that don’t make sense until they do. It mirrors life - messy, layered, and somehow, in the end, beautifully cohesive.

I create my work to be a sanctuary - a place to hold onto hope, regain strength, and remember that joy always returns. Each painting is meant to be a glimmer in the chaos, a reminder that none of us are ever truly alone. If my art can offer even a spark of recognition or comfort, then it has done its work - whether for one person or for collectors across the world."

I create my work to be a sanctuary for collectors worldwide - a place to hold onto hope, regain strength, and remember that joy always returns. Each painting carries a quiet promise: brighter days are ahead, and the power to reach them has been within us all along.

Inside the Studio

"In every painting, I start with neon underpaintings and finish with strokes of radiant gold. The neon, mostly hidden beneath layers of oil, creates a glow that refuses to stay quiet - a reminder of the inner strength we all carry, even when life feels heavy. The gold brings the magic, catching light in ways that spark wonder and hope.

My process always begins with intentional chaos, allowing the composition to slowly evolve into harmony. This approach reflects the way life unfolds - appearing chaotic at times, but ultimately finding balance. It’s a journey of transformation, both in the artwork and in the paths we all walk."
